Three Tips for Growing Your Law Firm’s Social Media Presence

Social media isn’t just for socializing anymore. It is also a great tool to keep your brand in front of clients, and effectively distinguish yourself from other firms.

There are currently 3.6 billion social media users worldwide. That number is only expected to rise. Social media proves as one of the most effective marketing tools available today, making it important to ensure you are reaping all the benefits a social media presence has to offer.

Get the Most Out of Your Social Media Presence

In order to ensure your social media presence contributes to your firm’s growth, there are certain facets you must keep in mind:

  • Build trust. Communicate your core values effectively, by offering “behind the scenes” images or videos. Share pictures of the inner goings of your firm, and pictures of your firm atmosphere. Ensure that the images you share accurately depict your firm’s culture and values. Clearly communicating the values that guide your practice will set you apart from other firms.
  • Consistency is key. If a client immediately comes across outdated posts, they will most likely search for a different firm. Outdated posts result in a great loss of credibility. In order to avoid such a scenario, posting once per week on all social media outlets is key. If you are confident you will not have time to manually post, invest in a social media scheduling tool. There are many existing scheduling tools, such as Hootsuite, Later and Fanbooster. Plan your content for the next month, and schedule away.
  • Remember the 70/30 rule. You must be aware of the 70/30 rule. 70 percent of your content should provide value to your audience, while the rest of your content should promote your firm. This comes as a surprise to those who are unfamiliar with managing a business’s social media presence. However, consistently providing value to followers is the sole way to increase your following. You will gain a more prominent place in the social media arena, as well as more leads. After all, who would want to scroll through their social media feed and view posts from a business that solely talks about themselves? Not many users. Implement this rule when gathering your content calendar, and watch your following skyrocket.

This is solely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the endless avenues that can expand your firm’s social media presence. However, these key takeaways will grant you a powerful start.

It is no secret that staying up to date with consistent social media posts proves time-consuming.
